Golf Training Aids for Novices, Professionals and Beginners

Article by Scott

If you’re like me, I’m always looking for ways to lower my golf score. As such, I’ve looked at videos, purchased golf training aids books from online golf shops and so on. What’s the same common theme with all of those….they just didn’t work at all for me or help me improve my golf score. Finally, I resorted to looking for information online from golfer forums. Most of the input that I received from the users steered me towards seeking the advice and help of a professional golfer at my local course. This way, the pro could watch my swing and analyze it in order to observe exactly where I needed to improve at. My experience and the help that I received from a pro trainer was great, but it might not work for everyone and that’s why we need to figure out exactly which swing trainers, aids and programs will help you.

First, we need to ask ourselves are we a:
1. Beginner
2. Novice
3. Pro

For beginner training aids instruction, this sort of training will provide you with the fundamentals of the game. Golf swing trainer, grip trainer and putting green help are all a key part of learning the game of golf at an early stage. Once these skills are sharpened, you can enjoy your game year after year.

For Novice golf trainer equipment there’s a myriad of golf training aids choices on the market today. Most novice golfers are past the beginner stage and have worked with a pro before but didn’t have much success. These novice training aids apparatus consist of golf swing aids, golf swing trainers and weighted golf clubs. Golf swing aids and golf swing trainers will help you focus on improving your arm position and golf swing velocity, while increasing accuracy.

Professional golfers have accomplished and perfected all of the above, however they’re always looking for ways to improve just the slightest aspect of their golf game. Most of the time, these professional golfers are trying to work on their golf swing by using golf swing training aids. The swing trainers for golf pros can help them immensely improve the slightest flaw of their game and put them back on top of the PGA tour rankings.

In conclusion, we can learn a lot when it comes to golf training and the various programs and golf training equipment associated with it today. The main questions we need to ask ourselves are:
- would a golf training clinic offer a better training medium than say a one on one golf training session with our local pro.

- or would a combination of golf training aid equipment and the help of the golf pro be better

These are decisions we need to make when it comes to getting better at the game of golf through extensive golf training. Possibly a mixture of these golf training approaches would work for you as all of us learn differently.

Beginners Golf Tips to Improving Your Game

Article by Kelvin Walker

Have you ever thought about what you can do to improve your golf scores? Have you ever thought about the placement of your hands on your golf club or what your knees and hips were doing? If not maybe it’s time to ponder about that, and use these golf tips to improve your game.

One problem that many golfers seem to suffer with is that they allow their left knee to collapse toward the right on their golf swing. To fix this you need to imagine that your left knee is going towards your target. If this doesn’t work try to imagine that you have a basketball between your knees. If you continue to allow your knee to collapse your shoulders will consistently drop. Which will cause you to overturn your hips.

Another common mistake is that beginners to golf often times rush through their swing. Try a slight pause at the end of your backswing. This will help you keep up a better rhythm with your swing, and allow you to strike the ball with more consistency.

Often time’s beginners will allow themselves to only hit the ball with their arms and wrist. Sometimes you will make a good connection with the ball. However this will lead to inconsistency. Remember that you need to use your whole body including your trunk, and your legs to really strike the ball with power.

Follow these few easy steps and you will begin to improve your golf game. Golf is physical and mental and to be good you must train both aspects of yourself.

Golf Tips For Beginners – Conversion Success And The Gate Drill

Article by Stephen Simmons

How To Practice Using The Gate Drill

Our highest priority in short game practice is learning how to convert more up and down attempts. Most golfers use the same method of practice in the short game area. They dump a pile of balls and rapidly work through the pile hitting a variety of shots to one or multiple targets without any effort at attempting to convert those shots with a putter.

How can we measure our success if we do not calculate our conversion percentage?

Practice Like The Pros…Learn To Convert

Your ability to shoot lower scores is dependent upon how well you convert your scoring opportunities. The way you convert more shots is by hitting shots that finish close to the hole or go in. Actually we want the ball to end up past the hole if it does not go in.

We need to approach short game shots with a conservatively aggressive strategy…meaning, we need to hit crisp shots that get to or beyond the hole with the correct read of the slope and break of the shot. The gate drill can help us learn this skill better than any other practice technique.

The gate drill can be used for any short game shots. Generally the gate drill will be limited to shots of less than than 30 yards. The gate for a putt is different than a pitch or chip shot.

The gate in putting practice is just wide enough to let the ball pass thru the gate without going into the hole. For longer putts of 40 or more feet, you may have to adjust the gate to be about 12 – 18 inches wider than the hole. The gate is constructed of brightly colored string. Refer to the video link below for a visual reference to what the gate looks like for chipping practice. You can also see my partner, Tim Hobby, simulating a practice session.

Watch this video demonstrating the gate drill, here on YouTube,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ANGZquqB1Ro”>golf tips for beginners

Gate Drill Scoring (Chipping and Pitching

The gate used for chip shots and pitch shots is 24 inches wide on either side of the hole and 36 inches deep. If we miss the hole we want our shots to be just outside the hole and stopping within gimmie range. Statistically most golfers have a fairly high percentage of conversions from less than 3 feet.

Scoring for the gate drill whether for short game shots or putts is the same; +3 points for shots holed, +1 points for shots that miss the hole and stay inside the gate, and -2 points for shots that miss the gate.

Drop ten balls and try to make 10 points with the putter from 9, 12, and then 15 feet. Drop ten balls and try to make 5 points when practicing chip, pitch, and sand shots.

The Gate Drill Will Improve Your Conversion Success…Guaranteed!

Beginners Golf Tips to Lower your Golf Score

Article by Nicolus Cage

As you begin to learn the fundamentals of the golf game, here are quick golf tips that cover the basics of the golf swing including ball position, backswing tips and downswing tips. Practice these golf tips regularly and you will be ready to play your best golf!

Ball Position Golf Tips

To hit crisp iron shots, you should hit downward on the golf ball. To achieve the downward blow, the golf ball should be positioned correctly in relation to your stance. So, to hit solid iron shots, position your body so that the golf ball is:

1. In the center of your stance for shorter irons including 8, 9 irons and wedges
2. One golf ball forward from center for mid irons including 5, 6, and 7 irons
3. Two golf balls forward from center for fairway clubs including 3 and 5 woods and hybrid clubs
4. Three golf balls forward from center for your driver

Full Swing Golf Tips

Backswing

When executing your backswing, rotate the club, arms and body back together while shifting your weight to the inside of right leg. Hinge your wrists as they approach waist level. At the top of the backswing, ensure your left arm is straight, most of your body weight is on the inside of your right leg and that your right knee is flexed. Your shoulders should be rotated up to 90 degrees at the top of your backswing while your hips are rotated 30 to 45 degrees.

Downswing

When you initiate the downswing, shift your weight to the left. Your hips, arms and shoulders will naturally follow this weight shift and unwind to the impact position. At impact, check that your head is behind the ball. Continue turning your body after impact so that your arms and club extend toward the target after impact (release position).

To ensure proper body movement throughout the golf swing, here are a few quick tips to check at the finish position of your golf swing:

1. Belt buckle faces your target
2. Club is wrapped around your shoulder with club head directed toward target line.
3. 90% of your weight is on left leg
4. Right foot upright on toes.

Learning to golf favorably is not something that you can really pick up while playing a video game. This news is frequently a crushing blow to those who have spent hours playing Nintendo’s Wii Sports but it is in fact the crushing reality. Learning how to play golf in real life is frequently extremely complicated and will require that you pay precise scrutiny to the exact rules and form. While learning from a golf instructor is a wise idea, there are a few mistakes that many beginners tend to make. Learning how to defeat these mistakes will hugely improve your chances of playing a good game of golf and walking away from the green after a successful game.

One of the greatest problems that noviceses have when learning golf is they tend to look up when they actually go to strike the ball. This is a predicament because it can result in a stroke being counted even if you did not hit the ball. You can just deduce how this can quickly add up to a horrible golf score. It is important to always look down until after you have hit the ball. To arrange that your eyes do stay down until after the hit you must ensure that you keep your hips properly rotated. If you have trouble with this idea talk to your coach for some specific tips to help you. Furthermore, ensuring that you keep your arms extended fully while you are swinging has been known to help many beginning golfers. Your last step should be counting to five after you strike the ball before you look up. This will help you pace yourself and help you avoid looking up too quickly.

Another common problem for beginning golfers is that many putts on the green are regularly missed. To help defeat this problem you should guarantee that you are standing in the putting stance and looking straight down at the top of your ball. If you are not looking directly down, you are likely to miss the appropriate hit and your ball will veer off in an unsuitable direction. Only look straight down at the ball when you actually putt and you will be looking at a much greater chance of actually hitting the ball into the hole without having to continuously putt and putt again.

Many new golfers also tend to have a problem with the ball going into the sides of the green, rather than straight ahead. While this may seem like a very troublesome problem to correct, it is actually quite simple with a bit of patience. The first thing you always need to keep in mind is your stance. If you are not standing appropriately before you even swing the club, you are not going to have a successful stroke. You need to ensure that you are taking the time to carefully analyze your stance before you ever swing, if you notice that your club is not squarely touching the ball then you may need to back up a bit to ensure that you are not hitting the ball from the side of the club. This is one of the biggest things that will throw a ball to one side of the green or another. Ensuring a solid, square swing will help your ball go to the desired location with a bit of practice.

Hooking is one of the last major flaws that strikes at most beginners. This is something that can be quite problematic to correct as well. Some have a problem with their stance that causes the ball to hook, while others are gripping the club too much, causing it to hit the ball the wrong way. Regardless of your problem, taking a close look at your stance, as well as ensuring that you are not gripping the club too tightly should be quite helpful in correcting a hooked ball. Of course, once you have started making adjustments to your stance or even your grip, you need to practice a bit to improve your skills.

Simple Beginners Golf Tips To Help Anyone Improve Their Game

Article by Golf-And-Tips

We’ve all taken a friend to play a round of golf only to find out this was their first time to ever play. A new golfer steps up to the golf ball for the first time in their life. As they bend over to tee up the golf ball their hands are shaking so much that they can’t keep the ball on the tee. Now they begin to take the club back and swing at the golf ball as hard as they possibly can. All the sudden you hear a whack because their ball hit a tree straight right of the fairway. At this point you might say “that was a pretty good swing. Try it again”. They are itching to give it another shot. The ball flies left of the fairway and into the woods bouncing around like a pinball machine. You’ve seen this before and I’m sure more than once. Too many of my friends and yours give up playing way too early. None of us want our friends to give up because they are so frustrated. I’ve decided to try and help new golfers enjoy the game more by giving them tips to help them play better.

In my opinion golf is one of the most difficult games to play. Just like any other game it takes time to develop your skills in order to play well. You must give of your time if you want to be a decent player. Practice whenever you get the chance to. Take several swings a day in order to develop muscle memory for your golf swing. Your short game is what will save your round of golf so make sure you work on it everyday. Work on things like chipping and putting. You can do this in your yard or on the rug in your house.

I have a passion for golf and I want to see this passion spread to others as well. I implore you to work on your game as often as you can and you’ll find yourself getting better and better. If a pro athlete works on their skills night and day to be a winner at their particular sport then obviously we amateurs must practice as much as we can in order to see any improvement. Anyone can accomplish their goals if they really have a desire to do so. Get out there and play golf and enjoy it because it’s a wonderful game!

Golf Game Tips for Beginners

Article by Billye Tepe

Whilst it can be convenient to look for golf game recommendations for beginners through the web, a number of content and courses miss out on several factors which are necessary for novices. The following are some less well known golf instruction hints for rookies.

First off, it is critical that you get the right golf clubs. Children and juniors will be needing golf equipment that are tailored properly for their stature. Many teenage players start off by practice with their parents’ golf clubs, yet this is simply not the ideal path to get better at the particular skills less mature golfers will need, and could even result in undesirable swing habits.

Another forgotten golfing advice for new players is to comprehend and pay attention to the basic protocols as well as your manners in the course. As an illustration, a lot of novices are unaware of the correct way to approach and walk out of a sand trap. It’s likely that not realise why that rake is parked there, or whenever they place their golf club, they are violating a rule. This is when more professional golf players can help. During the time you engage a round of golf with a novice, give an explanation of whatever you can in respect to the protocols and common golf course etiquette.

A large number of new players will try to coach themselves the rudiments of the swing action. This may be a drawn out, demoralizing method. Perhaps the best golf instruction suggestions for rookies is to try to enroll in a lesson or maybe two from an individual who has knowledge of the mechanics of the perfect golf swing action. The training course instructor can really help the player get set up appropriately, explain the entire golf swing process, and even assess the golf swing action immediately.

Of particular significance to rookies relates to the takeaway. A number of newcomers will certainly whip the club backwards along with their grasp. The proper takeaway for almost any golfing strike is imperative in the entire swing. All new players need to know that they don’t have to pull the club backwards speedily to generate a decent strike.

Upper body rotation is another tough area for plenty of new golfers. The best manner to bring the golf club back will be to guide the shoulder blades to rotate while retaining a sq club face, followed through the sides. At the peak of the backswing, the sides begin the process associated with the down swing, and never utilizing the hands and wrists.

In particular, probably the most very important golf instruction strategies of newcomers should be to train. Here’s a sport that needs hands-on workout, not just with the driver but also with all of the clubs, such as the putter. You’ll never get good at the swing unless you put in time and hard work to master each and every club and also learn how it reacts to your motion.

Golf Tips for Beginners: Ways to Excel in this Sport

Article by Rod Strange

Golf is considered one of the most popular sports today and yet many people do not know how to play and excel in it. In this kind of sport, one must be patient and know how to coordinate his different body parts. Excelling in this sport is the result of long hours of practice and years of patience. So if you are one of the novices that dream to be the next Woods of golf, then you must take your first step by following these different golf tips for beginners that can be accessed in some sites.

Golf tips for beginners are made available for anyone who wishes to excel in this kind of sport. With proper understanding and discipline, one does not need to hire the service of a professional trainer. For most beginners, one common mistake is the topping of the golf ball. A lot of factors can cause this topping. One is when you sway and let the club stick in your hands, which happens during an impact. In this case, you might be exerting more effort in the way you swing which is responsible in producing untimely body and leg movements that led to the delay of the release of the club head. There are useful tips that a golf beginner can follow if he wishes not to make the mistake of topping the ball.

1. The first step is to work on his tempo by keeping his head still and extending his arms fully throughout the course of impact. An estimated 80% of the power of your arms must be used when you swing your club. You could also try the penny technique which involves a coin placed over the golf ball. You must hit the penny instead of the golf ball. By doing this regularly you will be able to hit the penny with accuracy. When this happens, you are sure your hands are getting the proper training.

2. Considering the ball?s position is the next thing to do. Estimate its location if it is too far from your stance, because that would cause the topping of the ball. The location where you hit the ball also contributes in the topping of the ball; it can be avoided by placing the ball at the center of your stance. After checking the position, your wrist must also be checked. If your wrist breaks before an impact could be made, there is a great chance that you will top the ball. Keeping your head, arms and your wrist ahead of your target golf ball, before you make that swing is important to avoid the topping. You should also check the grip in your club, the right pressure in holding your club and the time you swing it may vary. Practicing these will make your body more relaxed and topping of the ball will not be a problem with you anymore.

3. Next to be checked is your posture. During set-up, your knees must be flexed properly as it will help you to be more at ease with the ball. The more comfortable you are, the less chances of topping.

4. The last thing to be followed is the way you swing. It is not advisable to lift your body away from the ball; your arm must not bend during each impact to make sure to avoid the applying of too much tension when you swing. Keep it cool as ice and soft as cotton. With these in mind, you will never go wrong.

These are only few of the things that you must know before you go out and play the sport out in the field with your friends. It is better to practice and harness your knowledge in this sport before you compete with others. Just like you, most beginners tend to commit the same mistake of topping of the ball. But just like the famous saying in every sport, ?practice makes perfect.? So just follow these golf tips for beginners, and a novice like you will be on the right track and within few days of regular practice, you are ready to give your friends a big surprise.
